NYS MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

The NEW YOUNG SCHOLAR MENTORSHIP program is designed to provide meaningful support as mentees navigate their academic, professional, and personal development. Mentors offer insight into real-world experiences, career planning, leadership, and identity, while also serving as a source of encouragement through the challenges that students may face in school or life.

Through regular one-on-one meetings, structured goal-setting, and community-building activities, both mentors and mentees engage in an intentional learning journey. Participants have opportunities to develop critical thinking, communication, and career-readiness skills while deepening their self-awareness and sense of purpose.

Beyond the individual relationship, the NYS mentorship program also includes interactive workshops, networking events, and reflection sessions that foster collaboration, cultural exchange, and peer learning. By the end of the program, scholars not only gain practical tools and professional knowledge, but also build confidence, community, and a strong foundation for future success.

Why Does It Matter ?

At New Young Scholars, mentorship is at the heart of our mission. We believe that when youth are supported by mentors who understand their experiences, they are empowered to lead with purpose and resilience. Mentorship provides our scholars with the tools, confidence, and community they need to overcome barriers, explore their potential, and become agents of change.
Whether you are sharing experience or seeking direction, mentorship is where impact begins.
